Frequently asked questions

How much does it cost?

Session costs vary, but keep in mind that exercise physiology sessions for which you have a GP referral entitle you to a Medicare rebate. Please contact us for further information.

What should I wear?

Exercises tailored to you and your body will be a part of all Life EP sessions. Wear anything that you feel comfortable in while exercising, as well as comfortable shoes (sneakers are ideal).

What happens in an exercise physiology session?

This depends on your goals, but will generally involve cardio exercise as well as resistance or weight training.

Each exercise program is tailored to the client and is designed to improve their condition and quality of life. As clients improve the exercises will match their progression.

Can weight training help prevent falls and fractures in the elderly?

Weight training helps maintain bone density and improves bone density in areas of the greatest bone stress. Exercise physiology sessions, including our Life EP group classes, are also designed to strengthen the muscles surrounding the joints, improving stability, coordination and balance. Strengthening these areas decreases the likelihood of a fall, while also helping to minimise the injuries that can result from a fall.

What are the benefits of low intensity exercise?

Low intensity exercise is an effective but low-stress way of helping improve many chronic conditions as well as improving overall health and fitness. If you are suffering from a chronic condition, a carefully tailored program is essential in safely maximising the benefits of exercise.

Can't I just go to a gym?

An exercise physiology studio provides many benefits that most gyms have difficulty in providing. By visiting Life EP you'll receive one-on-one attention from an accredited Exercise Physiologist. This ensures that you'll receive the right, scientifically assessed exercise program for your condition. Life EP also works with your GP to ensure that you receive the best possible treatment.
